Technically, there is a much improved air to fuel ratio balance flowing into the engine and therefore a flatter torque curve. This translates as a smoother driving experience and improved power.

At the International Healey weekend too many cars failed what was thought a conservatively enforced 98Db noise limit and could not race.
Rally drivers now report a 98 Db limit is causing problems. Side exhausts sound good but do get noisy on long journeys.
We went into technical developments with Piper exhausts and launch the Lo Noise performance exhaust
On the development car we achieved— 4Db(A) from the noise level and 10percent higher peak power on the rolling road.,
The exhaust is made in long lasting stainless steel.
The exhaust note remains good but without the rasp of noisier systems
